The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the development and execution of Opportunity International Nicaragua’s marketing and communication plans. Reporting to the Executive Director, this individual will partner with a range of stakeholders, including local leaders in the organization, OI corporate marketing, agency partners and volunteers to tell their stories and build a better understanding of the OIN Organization.
The impact of the Marketing Specialist’s contributions will support:
• Business development efforts at our food processing plant ?
• Relationship building with critical partners and clients ?
• Raising the profile and awareness of OIN within Nicaragua ?
• Fundraising efforts ?
• Improved communication with and leveraging of the volunteer network ?
Responsibilities
OIN Brand Building
• Ensure that all OIN communication initiatives contribute to a consistent OIN “brand” while also supporting the OI global brand. ?
• Project manage and contribute to the OIN communication framework and brand Identity. ?
• Lead and manage the creation of a logo, assets and style guide for OIN. Going forward, ensure the consistent application of the logo across the organization. ?
• Lead the brand development and execution (including logo and packaging design) for the school’s business. ?
Marketing and Communications Planning
• Develop marketing and communications plans to support OIN objectives. Within the OIN organization, multiple plans will be needed to meet the communication objectives of multiple targets, including donors, partners, clients and customers. ?
• Across all communication targets, build a consistent understanding of the OIN model and impact. ?
• Maintain and operate within a predefined budget. ?
Marketing and Communications Execution
• Leverage technology, including websites and social media platforms, to provide real time communication to stakeholders.
? Identify OIN stories for broader communication. ?
? Create and regularly update content for digital communication platforms. ?
? Provide social media community management ?
• Design and create materials supporting OIN business development initiatives. Anticipated needs include printed materials and trade show support. ?
• Identify and execute PR and communication opportunities to further OIN’s objectives across multiple targets. PR opportunities need to be leveraged in the local Nicaraguan business press and in social enterprise, non-profit, sustainability and agricultural industry press. ?
• Identify and execute publicity events for local community, industry and volunteers. ?
• Identify the best tradeshows for OIN to participate and lead the planning and preparation for those tradeshows, including development of materials and booth. ?
• Identify and manage 3rd party relationships to deliver specialized services and skills (e.g., website production, video production, printing). ?
• Support OI-N leadership communication needs, including presentation support. ?
Relationship Building
• Build relationships with OIN leadership and clients to enable in-depth understanding of organizational progress, OIN’s impact on the community and on individual’s lives. ?
• Effectively leverage OI HQ marketing function and volunteer network to supplement resources. Success will require clear communication, lead times and the ability to identify needs. ?
