Summary
Under the direction of the VP Business Development LATAM this position will be responsible for providing the company with a large set of compelling investment options by building and maintaining a significant pipeline of tower and tower-related acquisitions along with build-to-suit (BTS) opportunities in the assigned region. Duties include building relationships with the tower business ecosystem, qualifying leads, contacting potential sellers, negotiating and closing agreements, and working with regional/country operational management to integrate the acquisitions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Source BTS, M&A, new product opportunities and deals in local markets.
• Actively lead in-market BTS and M&A response processes.
• Create and build relationships with senior levels of in-country operators.
• Create and build relationships with management teams of target acquisitions.
• Partner with Regional Operations VPs and Country General Managers to bring focus and execution to BD initiatives.
• Actively innovate, create and lead new in-market product/service and business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain information on targets and opportunities.
• Assist Vice President International on new market strategy and development.
• Build and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal teams.
• Build and maintain relationship maps for the assigned territory.
• Build and maintain direct relationships with individuals and organizations within the territory to facilitate information gathering, lead generation and deal closure.
• Provide input in the preparation of accurate financial models on acquisition targets that meet SBA's investment criteria.
• Communicate offers and negotiate Letters of Intent with developers and tower owners and their representatives.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. MBA preferred
• 3+ years of sales/business development/M&A experience preferably in telecom infrastructure
• Verbal, written and presentation communication skills required
• Financial preparation and analysis skills required
• Ability to read and analyze legal documents required
• Ability to take full initiative to complete assignments and effectively interact with all levels of associates
• Ability to analyze operational data, interpret business drivers and develop performance measures and recommendations.
• Multi-task oriented, with the ability to handle multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced work environment.
Language Skills
• Fully bilingual, English / Spanish required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents in both English and Spanish.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Valid local driver’s license.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to travel both local and internationally as business required (minimum 50% travel). Ability to hear, understand and respond appropriately to verbal requests made in person and over the telephone.
