Description

Are you interested in joining the Technology, Sourcing and Procurement space inside Amazon's eCommerce Foundation? Then this job aligns perfect as our team is responsible for all aspects related to Hardware negotiation, acquisition and long-term strategy on that space.

Our Tech Procurment SME will partner with business owners (our customers) and their teams to define requirements for identified purchasing needs in the IT space such as hardware, software and IT services. They will categorize and select the best suppliers by working with external companies to gather, analyze and make recommendations to the business.

Tech Procurment SME's are responsible for the end-to-end procurement process (P2P or procure to pay) and includes: acknowledging TT, quoting, PO creation, gaining approvals, following up prior to delivery, delivery validation, and engaging with the invoice payment process where required.

In conclusion, PS will provide customer support to internal customers, and act as a liaison, resolving any issues that may arise with a contract or supplier.

Key job responsibilities
- Will create and place purchase orders with the appropriate vendors and track them, signing off when the supplies (Hardware) arrive and logging the information in their records.

- Handling a moderate number of buying situations at the same time. These deals generally come to closure quickly due to their straightforward nature. Per the nature of the position, a procurement specialist should be able to manage 200+ Purchase Orders per month, across the AMER region.

- Engage in a number of negotiations with vendors and suppliers. Will work with other companies to find the lowest possible prices

- Must maintain positive relationships with their vendors.

- For a large number of cost centers, is very familiar with the monthly spending patterns and is expected to identify exceptions and areas for potential improvement.

- Performs analysis of monthly spending of cost centers to identify areas for improvement.

- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of identifiable factors.

Basic Qualifications

- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- Experience with tools/systems to analyze data including Excel, Access, SQL or other data management systems
- 1+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain related work in a procurement organization experience
- Experience with high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management
- Experience in Coupa or other financial management/procurement software
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, IT, Business Administration or 3+ years of Amazon experience in related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in project management
- Six Sigma White Belt, or 1+ years of project management and implementation experience
