Description
Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Analyst to join our Buy & Sell Inventory Control Team. This operational role is essential to maintaining accurate inventory records, resolving discrepancies, and supporting the day-to-day execution of the Amazon Funded Buy & Sell (AFBS) program. The successful candidate will manage ticket resolution, perform walkfile reconciliations, drive automation initiatives, and work collaboratively with Rack Integrators and warehouse partners to ensure operational excellence.
Key job responsibilities
- Execute weekly and monthly walkfile reconciliation processes, comparing Component Inventory Activity (CIA) and Roll Forward Reports (RFR) to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Manage inbound support tickets from Rack Integrators (RIs), DB Schenker (DBS) hubs, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), ensuring timely resolution within established SLAs
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies including ASN issues, PO variances, inventory receipt differences, and sales order discrepancies
- Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) requests, tracking component returns to OEMs and ensuring proper credit or replacement issuance
- Monitor and validate daily inventory allocations to ensure accurate processing across SAP and OFA systems
- Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliation reports, documenting open items and providing status updates to management
- Lead automation initiatives to streamline manual processes, including report preparation, data transformation, and variance analysis
- Support invoice resolution activities by identifying and addressing invoices on hold due to GR/IR issues or PO discrepancies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AWS Supply Chain, Finance, and Central Accounting to resolve operational issues
- Maintain accurate documentation in task management systems (Asana) and ticketing platforms, ensuring proper tracking and audit trails
- Participate in Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) to communicate operational metrics, challenges, and resolution status
A day in the life
As an Inventory Control Analyst, you will spend time analyzing inventory reports, identifying discrepancies between SAP records and partner data, and reaching out to stakeholders to gather information needed for resolution. Throughout the day, you'll work on walkfile reconciliations, validating that physical inventory counts match financial records and documenting any variances. You'll also process RMA requests, track component returns, and ensure proper system updates. A significant part of your role involves identifying repetitive manual tasks and proposing automation solutions using tools like Power Query, BVAs, or workflow automation. During month-end periods, your focus intensifies on completing reconciliations accurately and supporting the accounting team with critical inventory data.
