Amazon's Global Finance Solutions (GFS) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment where delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. GFS is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support our internal Finance business partners. You will partner with business leaders to provide financial insights, develop strategic recommendations, and improve operational efficiency.

The candidate would be responsible to perform financial reporting, support monthly P&L analysis and financial forecasts, review fiscal close in close co-ordination with business and accounting teams, evaluate Capex/Opex requirements and continuously benchmark cost productivity for the business. Additionally, the role would also facilitate financial review meetings and work with business managers to ensure effective finance and cost management, provide inputs for monthly and quarterly business reviews in a timely manner and facilitate the business reviews with data analysis and follow through with business leaders on actionable items for improving business metrics over a period of time.

Additional responsibilities would include partnering across vertical teams to ensure high-quality reporting, ad-hoc business analyses, financial modeling and analysis of business trends, establishing controls and defining/maintaining business metrics for new/existing businesses. The candidate would also partner with Global leadership team to develop strategic multi-year or long term operating plans, present recommendations to senior management on strategic decisions, and planned future initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end financial planning and analysis for assigned GFS business units, serving as the single-threaded owner for financial insights and acting as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders.
- Lead monthly close processes, MBR/QBR preparations, and variance analysis.
- Drive the annual operating plan (OP1/OP2) and quarterly forecast cycles.
- Design and implement automated solutions for financial reporting and analysis.
- Create and present executive-ready deliverables to Director and VP-level audiences.
- Partner cross-functionally with business teams on strategic initiatives.
- Lead process improvement initiatives that have measurable impact beyond your immediate scope.
- Support investment decisions and business cases by developing robust financial models.
- Drive strategic projects and ad-hoc analysis with minimal guidance, demonstrating the ability to independently scope ambiguous problems, structure analytical frameworks, and deliver actionable insights to leadership.

Basic Qualifications

- 8+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 5+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
- 4+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience

Preferred Qualifications

- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 4+ years of recommending practices and processes to ensure financial data integrity and compliance with internal and extern
