Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Mullen Hospitality Management. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading the sales and marketing team to develop and execute strategic initiatives to maximize revenue opportunities and enhance the brand presence of the JW Marriott Costa Elena All-Inclusive Resort in Costa Rica. Special focus will be placed on increasing the resort's market share in the groups, conventions, weddings, and FIT sectors. This role requires an innovative and dynamic leader committed to operating at the highest standards of quality and excellence while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to drive growth in groups, conventions, weddings, and FIT segments.
- Lead the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing clients.
- Oversee the creation and execution of targeted marketing campaigns to promote the resort's offerings across multiple channels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance guest experiences in an all-inclusive luxury environment.
- Foster and enhance relationships with the franchisor, taking advantage of their sales materials, plans, and network to drive future bookings.
- Manage and analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer behaviors to inform sales strategies and decision-making.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate clients, event planners, and travel industry partners.
- Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget to optimize resources and maximize ROI.
- Drive brand awareness and engagement through digital marketing, social media, PR initiatives, and community engagement.
- Represent the resort at national and international trade shows, conventions, and industry events to showcase offerings and forge new partnerships.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sales and marketing team to achieve personal and professional growth in line with organizational goals.
- Fluent in reading/assimilating/using Smith Travel Research data, financial P&L, mix of sales, forecasting, group pace/position & a wide array of traditional hotel reporting.
- Design effective Sales deployment schemes and market assignments.
- Spearhead innovative marketing campaigns across digital, social, and traditional platforms to continue to grow market share.
- Leverage PR, influencer partnerships, and brand collaborations to amplify market presence.
- Create and execute activations throughout both the hotel and F&B outlets.
- Manage the hotel's website and ensure content is current, engaging, and aligned with brand standards.
- Ensure a strong, consistent brand message that resonates with our target audience.
- Organize and promote events, packages, and seasonal promotions to boost revenue.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Proven track record of success in sales and marketing within the luxury hospitality sector, with experience in groups, conventions, weddings, wholesale, OTAs and FIT markets.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management and development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing and CRM tools.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively while maintaining a results-oriented approach.
